With support from ROTARY CLUB OF DELHI MIDWEST and THE ROTARY CLUB OF DENVER. We have constructed 67 (IHHLs) individual household toilets in the village Indri, near Sohna, Distt. Nuh, Haryana.

Alongside construction of toilets we ran handwashing campaign and organized awareness and health camps. Through peer education, we were able achieve significant behavior change of the targeted population.

Both the clubs were jointly felicitated with prestigious “GEORGE K. DAVIS Water and toilet Facilities Award” for the Year 2019 in an award ceremony held at Denver USA on 15th of August 2019. The coordinator for Rotary Club of Denver, Rtn William Korstad (Bill) hailed the efforts of Sulabh Sanitation Mission Foundation’s role in making the village ODF. Sulabh Sanitation Mission Foundation constructed 37 household toilets in Dahejvillage, of Bharuch, Gujarat. The project had a strong impact on the different aspects of community life in Dahej village. The study indicates that there has been a clear improvement in the health, hygiene and sanitation conditions in the village.

Construction of the toilets has also created a safer environment for women and girls as now they do not have to go out for defecation. These toilets are easily accessible by the elderly and physically challenged persons at all times.

The WASH programs were further strengthened through workshops, orientations, training programs and film shows aimed at raising awareness about good health and hygiene. The villagers, in general, seem to be very satisfied and happy with the outcome of the sanitation project.
